Arizona Driving, Statistics, Car Insurance

Much care must be taken when driving in the state of Arizona. After researching a little bit on NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) back in 2007 there were 1066 total traffic fatalities. That’s a lot of death occurring on public streets some of them being grand parents, mother’s, father’s as well as infants and toddlers. Out of these 1066 back in 2007, 336 of these fatalities were caused by drivers who drink too much before getting behind the wheel. I see that number and its upsetting. 336 people died who really didn’t need to. It seems like in many cases, in alcohol-related accidents, the innocent person is the one who dies; not the one under the influence.

You can reduce your risk by following the following these simple instructions. For one if you want to drink stay somewhere, drink at home, drink responsibly. Also, many impared drivers are caught driving in between the hours of 12 AM and 3 AM. Be extra careful if you must drive in between these hours. If driving between these hours is unnecessary, it’s best just to stay at home or make sure you have everything you need before it gets too late. Finally, always make sure to wear your seat belt. It’s been proven to us time and time again, seat belts save lives. We might as well use our seat belts; since they’re there for our use. Statistics have shown, back in 2007 once again, there were 233 fatalities who were in a seat belt and 374 fatalities were not restrained. Remember these are Arizona statistics only.

If you want to make sure your family and friends are anybody you’re driving with is better protected, you may want to add medical payments on to your policy. Medical payments will help pay for any injuries sustained within your own vehicle. A typical limit chosen is $5000 per person per occurrence. You may increase these limits for a slightly higher premium. This is a good coverage to have if you often car pool or drive around friends not knowing what type of health coverage they have.

Have a good day, drive safe and stay alert :).
