There is no question about it.  Arizona shoppers love insurance policies that are provided at a very low cost.  The great news is we can help find you the best rates for auto insurance.  However, we also care about making sure you have a decent amount of coverage in case something happens.  The State of Arizona has come up with state minimum liability limits that all Driver’s must carry.

Arizona Liability Minimum limits are 15/30/10.

Remember liability pays for injuries, damages, burial to other drivers you may negligently hit. When this happens and you are at fault your liability insurance will come into play.  If you only carry the State minimum requirements, this is how your 15/30/10 liability policy would work.

Up to $15,000 will be paid to one person for injuries, $30,000 will be the most the Insurance Company pays for all injuries and finally $10,000 will be the most the Insurer will pay for property damage you cause to the other person’s vehicle.

Cases where you would hope you are not only carrying the state minimum:

You are found negligent or “at-fault” for totaling a car with a value over $10,000
(A high percentage of vehicles on the road are worth well over $10,000)

You are found negligent or “at-fault” for injuring someone in an auto accident to the extent of long-term hospitalization.  My sister was hit by a truck a few years ago and was hospitalized for quite some time.  When all was said and done her medical bills were over $50,000.  It’s a good thing the person in the truck had high limits of liability, otherwise there would have been a lawsuit for the remaining $35,000+ if in fact the Driver of the truck only had the state minimum.

In conclusion I’d like to talk a little about my own choices with auto insurance coverage before and after obtaining my insurance license.  Before I stepped into the field of insurance it was always State minimum coverage for me.  The cost of living is rising every day and affording a high limit coverage was not a primary concern on my mind.  As I stepped into the Insurance Industry I began to see why it’s so important to get more coverage than what the State requires.  Enough education on insurance led me to understand that earning a living is to hard to put myself in a position where everything could get lost in a blink of an eye. I literally pay under $20 every six months for coverage that is much better than the State Minimum required.  For approximately $3 a month I can now feel comfortable knowing that if I’m at fault in a collision, chances are my family won’t hurt financially.

You can never have too much coverage.  The question you as a shopper must ask yourself is, How much is not enough?  Get coverage you feel comfortable with.  Make sure you are financially protected if, God forbid, the worst possible situation happens to you.
